Not if director Joss Whedon has anything to say about it. As the man behind the mega-success of The Avengers, Whedon has stated, in fairly unequivocal terms, that he will not make The Avengers 2 without Robert Downey Jr.
Peter Jackson is working hard to stretch a 300 page book into three massive films. So hard, in fact, that he’s even introducing characters who, uh, might not actually appear in The Hobbit. Ever. We now get our first official glimpse at one such character, Tauriel the head of the Elven Guard, in the upcoming The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug.

Nicolas Cage and John Cusack have not been doing so hot lately. Cage probably wins in the WTF department, but Cusack has come a close second. Whenever anyone asks me why I like The Expendables franchise, I respond with a blank look and then shout: “OLD PEOPLE BLOWING THINGS UP!” Because, really, that’s what we’re all here for. With The Expendables 3 getting a proper (read: awesome) cast together, it was only a matter of time before Lionsgate informed us of how long we’ll have to wait for the next installment of Muscleheads in Steroidland. The release date for The Expendables 3 is set for August 15, 2014.
