Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series is still trucking on, and just kicked off its fourth season last week - but when it comes to the former government agency's presence in the movie universe, we haven't seen them in action since Steve Rogers decreed that they were to be taken down along with HYDRA towards the climax of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
By all accounts, MacGruber was a failure. A feature comedy born out of an SNL sketch, the film couldn't even make back its budget, not to mention it received a lashing from critics. However, in the years since its 2010 release, it's found itself amassing a pretty large cult following, and now, it seems that we'll be getting that much requested sequel.
The fourth season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues with a new episode on Tuesday night, but fans are still debating a lot of the questions raised in last week's season premiere - in particular, the rather explosive first meeting between two characters we've been told will actually wind up on the same side at some point: Daisy/Quake (Chloe Bennet) and Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna).
We've been hearing about the new director (Jason O'Mara) for quite some time now, and he'll finally make his debut on tomorrow night's episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "Meet The New Boss." Fans have been speculating about the identity of this chap ever since it was confirmed that he'd be an established Marvel Comics character, and this new sneak peek provides the biggest hint we've had thus far: his first name.
This Friday is Rogue Friday, which means that a whole bunch of toys, clothes, collectibles and more will be made available for Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Hopefully we'll also be getting a lot of new information on the film at that point as well, but before all that happens, Making Star Wars has revealed a couple of new character descriptions that give us a look at some of the aliens and Stormtroopers we'll be seeing come December.
A few weeks back, set photos from Thor: Ragnarok surfaced online that showed actor Sam Neill filming some scenes. While his involvement in the threequel hadn't been confirmed at the time, it seems that the cat is now out of the bag, as Neill told Shortlist that he's indeed involved in the upcoming Marvel flick.
With November quickly approaching, all hands are on deck over at Marvel for the imminent arrival of Doctor Strange, the phase 3 film that's set to take the MCU headfirst in a magical new direction. Anticipation for the flick is at an all-time high now, and as we inch ever closer to its release, the studio continues to ramp up the marketing machine.
Grand Admiral Thrawn is a fan-favorite character that was first introduced in Timothy Zahn's series of Star Wars Expanded Universe novels back in the '90s. When George Lucas shelved the EP and declared it "non-canon", fans figured that'd be the last they saw of the blue-skinned baddie. So, you can imagine how overjoyed they were when it was announced that Thrawn would be reintroduced via the third season of Disney XD's excellent Star Wars Rebels animated series.
With less than 90 days until Passengers arrives in theatres, Sony has managed to keep their sci-fi thriller mostly under wraps and a mystery to the general public. The cast and and trailer have piqued our interest though and with the release date quickly approaching, they now have our full attention.
With the exception of Loki (and Thanos, but he hasn't really done a whole lot yet), no Marvel Cinematic Universe villain has appeared in more than one film. This is usually down to the character being killed off, or simply not making enough of an impact to be brought back, so, for the most part, fans haven't kicked up too much of a fuss about it - aside from one baddie in particular, that is: Captain America: The First Avenger's The Red Skull.
