Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot will go down as one of the biggest comic book movie flops, both critically and commercially, of all time. In the wake of the dire response to the movie there was a lot of rumors relating to where things went wrong, most specifically. Trank seemed to blame Fox, the studio blamed Trank, and most of the cast remained as diplomatic as possible.
Things aren't looking too good for Gambit, the upcoming X-Men spinoff that Channing Tatum has been trying to get off the ground for what seems like forever now. Not long after Doug Liman took over in the director's chair for Rupert Wyatt, 20th Century Fox took the film off their release schedule. It's yet another delay in a long line of them and some websites have begun to wonder if Tatum may be giving up on the project.
It wasn't too long ago that a lucky group of people got to see an early test screening of David Ayer's Suicide Squad. The reactions were extremely positive to say the least, with those in attendance calling it "insane" and "amazing." It's not just the fans who are digging the flick either, as Warner Bros. is apparently so high on it that they've already started ordering up spinoffs for characters like Harley Quinn and Boomerang.
We already knew that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be retitled. Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed it back while they were doing the press rounds for Captain America: Civil War. What they didn't tell us, however, is what the new title for the film would be.
It might not have done too well commercially or critically, but there's still something to be said for the spectacle that is Alex Proyas' Gods of Egypt. With big, loud visuals and Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau squaring off against one another as Egyptian gods, the film is, at the very least, mindless entertainment that's more or less harmless.
Warcraft: The Beginning looks like it's turning out to be a bit of a bomb, but director Duncan Jones isn't letting that get to him. Far from it, in fact. The promising filmmaker, who also gave us excellent sci-fi efforts like Moon and Source Code has turned his attention towards Mute, a movie that he's been trying to make for a very long time now. How long, you ask? Try 14 years.
Before you get too excited, we should note that this is all just speculation at this point. That being said though, we do have reason to believe that Jared Leto may be showing up as The Joker in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The evidence comes from a Tweet by the actor showing him suited up as the iconic character - you can check it out for yourself below.
Is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in trouble? It certainly looks that way. A couple of days ago we learnt that the film was set to undergo reshoots, which is always a bit concerning to hear. However, it was quickly revealed that the reshoots were simply to add in a surprise cameo. Now though, the story seems to be changing again, as Making Star Wars reports that it's not just the cameo that needs to be shot, it's a good 40% of the film.
It's not often that you hear an actor talk candidly about their own film, but when it does happen, it's always refreshing to see. Such is the case with Jeremy Irons, who recently spoke with the Daily Mail about Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which - as we all know - didn't quite do as well as the studio had hoped it would.
Though it was already widely assumed, Jesse Eisenberg has now confirmed that he'll reprise his role as Lex Luthor for Justice League. Production on the film is currently underway in London and while things aren't exactly running too smoothly over there from what we've heard, it does appear that Warner Bros. is attempting to put their DC Extended Universe back on track by making some big changes behind the scenes.
