Nato And Remy’s Last Stand: Heavyweight Horror Throwdowns We’d Love To See
Freddy Vs. Jason could have started something awesome, sparking an onslaught of horror team-up movies pitting the best and baddest villains against one another, but for some reason the fad never caught on. Maybe because Freddy Vs. Jason wasn't exactly a great movie, maybe because horror fans weren't digging the gimmick enough, or maybe because all the rights purchasing just got too sticky - but either way, our horror villains have been left to their own worlds and devices. Remy and I believe it's time to change that though, because what's better than one iconic horror villain? No, not a cake. Seriously? No, the only thing better than one horror villain, is TWO horror villains for the price of one!

What Maisie Knew Blu-Ray Review
A divorce is typically always a sticky situation, but the chaos of separation becomes even more tragic when a child is thrown into the mix. This poor, innocent victim did absolutely nothing wrong, yet now has to be subjected to split time between parents, hate inspired speak from both sides, and a perception of life no child should start out with. This is the story of What Maisie Knew, a heart-wrenching story of one family's separation told through the eyes of their daughter, Maisie (Onata Aprile). While tragic and utterly soul-crushing at times, directors Scott McGehee and David Siegel also manage to capture the beauty, wonder, and child-like curiosity in our dynamite character Maisie, played to perfection by our pint-sized leading lady.

Magic Magic Review
Writer/director Sebastián Silva already "Wow'ed" me this year with his independent road-trip "comedy" Crystal Fairy, so I happily jumped at the chance to tackle his other summer release, Magic Magic. Also taking place in Chile, this story of a vacationing American is a much darker, sinister, and psychologically abusive tale, with Michael Cera returning to play an awkwardly terrifying exchange student named Brink. Silva trades laughs for tension this time around, shooting for his version of a grounded horror film, which is apparent through his indistinguishably independent delivery yet again. I absolutely loved his psychedelic take on the comedy genre, but how did his first foray into "horror" go? As quirkily as you would have imagined.

Jug Face Review
Backwoods cult communities - is there anything creepier? Just imagine a bunch of brainwashed radicals living miles away from civility, abiding by their own communal rules and ignoring the social norms that govern most "typical" Americans. I don't know, that sounds pretty horrifying to me, right? People that make their own rules, justify them, and treat them as common law - especially when there's a bloody pit holding a creature who is basically pulling all the strings? Oh, did that catch your attention? Welcome to the country bumpkin world of Jug Face, where if you see yourself sculpted into the water jug you're drinking out of, then you're shit out of luck.

Brace Yourself For Sharknado 2: The Second One
When the world became enamored with the most preposterous Syfy title to date, Sharknado, the random weather/sea creature hybrid horror movie took over the internet and social media in a way no B-Movie has ever done. Premiering before 1.4 million bloodthirsty viewers last month and becoming an instant trending hashtag on Twitter, literally everyone in the world caught a piece of Sharknado - except for me. I saw Pacific Rim instead that night. Crazy, right?

Storm Surfers 3D Blu-Ray Review
Storm Surfers 3D - how exciting can a documentary about surfing be? Well, when Ross Clarke-Jones and two-time World Champion Tom Carroll are involved, a hell of a lot more exciting than I expected. Following these two aquatic daredevils on their quest to surf the most dangerous and intimidating waves around, we watch them get tossed about like rag dolls by Neptune's wrath, but also gasp at their expertise when conquering these fabled surfing spots. Exploring already tagged areas isn't enough for our two men though, as their overarching goal is to surf a wave that's never been surfed before, one that could end our shredder's careers if handled the wrong way.

Aftershock Blu-Ray Review
While Eli Roth hasn't been doing much directing lately (although I can't wait to see The Green Inferno), he's been plenty busy writing, producing, and acting. While he's already given us an exorcism film and some kung-fu badassery, Roth's latest presentation ventures into the realm of natural disasters, as he played a large role in Nicolás López's Aftershock. Even with all his backstage duties, Roth still stars in this Chilean earthquake film, injecting his own influence into the B-Movie hybrid, which ended up being a tonally confusing and decently entertaining disaster film - with a special touch of craziness.

In A World… Review
In a world where female voice-over artists struggle to join the boy's club such a profession has become, one heroic woman plans to stand up and let her majestic voice be heard. That woman is played by the funny and talented Lake Bell, who also serves as both writer (she won Best Screenplay at 2013's Sundance Film Festival) and director for her first feature film In A World..., which features a who's who of comedic talent and popular off-screen voices. Didn't know the voice-over game was such a big deal? Neither did I, but now that the curtain has been pulled back, I want in.
