Netflix's original movies have always been marked by inconsistency, and while they've scored rave reviews for prestige dramas like Martin Scorsese's The Irishman and Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods, they're still happy to churn out terrible Adam Sandler comedies based on the inexplicably high number of viewers they draw in, as well as the likes of The Last Days of American Crime, which topped the most-watched lists despite scoring a big fat zero on Rotten Tomatoes and quickly being labeled as one of the worst movies of the year.

Horror series The Haunting of Hill House was a massive hit for Netflix when it dropped in October 2018, winning almost universal acclaim from both fans and critics alike, even those that weren't particularly enamored with the genre itself. Creator Mike Flanagan had already established a reputation as one of scare cinema's finest talents, and only reinforced this notion in eight episodes full of nail-biting tension, jump-scares, some stunning filmmaking techniques and unbelievable performances from the ensemble cast.

The Wrath Of Khan Producer Is Pitching A New Star Trek Movie
We're definitely getting at least one Star Trek movie in the near future, it just isn't clear yet in which direction it'll be headed. The rebooted Kelvin timeline kicked off by J.J. Abrams a decade ago may have done decent business at the box office, but in general terms they didn't post big enough numbers to justify budgets of at least $150m apiece, with Abrams' Into Darkness the highest-grossing entry with a solid-if-unspectacular $467m global haul.
