‘And get this – no mugshot either’: Police camera wasn’t working when ‘Succession’ star Nicholas Braun got arrested

He was allowed to walk without having to post bail.

Nicholas Braun, best known for playing Cousin Greg on the hit HBO series Succession, was arrested for DUI in New Hampshire over Labor Day weekend. The 37-year-old actor was pulled over by police in Moultonborough on Friday night, August 30, at around 11:15 PM.

The Carroll County jail confirmed that Braun was arrested on suspicion of DUI impairment and operating his vehicle without lights. He was taken to the Carroll County lockup but stayed for only about an hour before being released on his own recognizance. This means he was freed from custody without having to post bail, based on his promise to appear in court.

In an unusual turn of events, Braun has no mugshot from his arrest. “And get this — no mugshot either … turns out the police camera wasn’t working,” according to TMZ. The police station’s camera system was malfunctioning at the time of his booking, which prevented the standard arrest photo from being taken.

What’s next for the Succession star

Braun is scheduled to be arraigned on September 16 at a New Hampshire court. In the state of New Hampshire, a first-time DUI offense is classified as a Class B Misdemeanor and typically comes with a fine between $500 – $1,200. The actor has not yet issued any statement about the arrest, nor has there been any comment from his representatives.

The arrest comes at a time when Braun has been enjoying career success following Succession‘s acclaimed four-season run. He stands at an impressive 6 feet 7 inches tall, making him the tallest member of the show’s cast. The towering actor earned three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of the bumbling yet endearing Greg Hirsch.

Earlier this year, Braun made his relationship with girlfriend Hyunji Ward Instagram official on her birthday in March. The couple appears to be going strong, with Braun describing Ward as “the absolute joy of my life” in his social media post. He has also been working on new projects, including developing a new TV show about a struggling band for HBO and starring in the Dakota Johnson comedy Splitsville.
