Brie Larson drops a subtle hint on good books to read while asking for suggestions

Perhaps we should all aspire to be a bit more serene, like Brie Larson.

Superheroes are just like us, as Brie Larson has proven time and time again. In an attempt at pontification on wellness, rest, and serenity, Ms. Marvel herself has taken to social media to share her own reading list to aid in some self-improvement wisdom in the form of an autobiographical book. After all, who doesn’t need some words of guidance every now and then?

The actress responsible for bringing one of the most controversial yet enticing superheroes to the big screen has done it again when it comes to making mundane activities seem everything but so. Larson shared an image on Twitter where she appeared covered in a cozy blanket, reading Rest and be thankful by Emma Glass. In the tweet’s caption, the actress also questions netizens on any book recommendations, as she looks for the next insightful read for the future.

Rest and be thankful is a novel that tells the story of Laura – a nurse in a pediatric unit who cares for sick babies, while on the brink of burnout. This story falls under the adult fiction category, as it deals with themes surrounding unhappy marriages, sensual endeavors, and most of all, a constant, looming existential fatigue that comes from being in a less-than-ideal living situation. Despite being a unique story with a peculiar plot, Brie seems to be nearing the end, asking for ideas on what to read next.

This mesmerizing attempt at receiving good book recommendations has been well-received by fans of the star, as they flooded the comments with their own recommendations. Some of them strayed away from the introspective realm, but might just fit the bill for Larson’s list of books for the year.

While we can only hope for Larson’s upcoming reading list to be released at some point or another, everyone is left with a new fiction book for the remainder of winter. To feel like a straight-up superhero, get a warm blanket, and Larson’s favorite smoothie, and follow her advice on the best reading session of your life.
