‘I am beyond honored’: Paris Hilton verbally flips the bird to angry conservatives over plans to play Dreamland Pride

That's hot!

Paris Hilton has absolutely no time for bigoted shenanigans. Following the announcement that the socialite and DJ would be performing at the Dreamland Pride, Hilton was the subject of criticism from conservatives, but she couldn’t care less.

As the date for one of the biggest Pride events in the U.S. approaches, the Hilton heiress celebrates her own contribution to the Festival, for which she has been invited to perform. As a quick flip of the bird towards conservatives who might oppose her choice to take part in the event, the singer paid no mind to bigots. Opting to participate in the festival without giving it a second thought, Hilton shared that she wishes to advocate for “everyone living true to themselves.”

“I am beyond honored for the opportunity to perform at New York Pride,” the musician, socialite and businesswoman tells PEOPLE in a statement. “I’m so excited to celebrate, support, and champion everyone living true to themselves, in the same way the LGBTQ+ community has advocated for me and my voice.”

As an open ally and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, Hilton assures that she will continue using her influence to spread positivity and awareness for a community that has long faced the repercussions of a closed-minded society. “I will continue to use my platform to speak out and spread love, tolerance, acceptance, and support,” Hilton said, “It’s the Summer of Sliving, and I can’t wait to Sliv with everyone at Dreamland Pride in Central Park!”

Aside from performing as a DJ, Hilton also announced she would be singing her hit song “Stars Are Blind,” at Central Park’s first-ever Pride festival, Dreamland Pride. Perhaps as an ode to her first album, which was released 17 years ago and re-recorded just last year, Hilton will also perform some of her oldest songs from Paris.

The Dreamland Pride Festival will take place in Central Park on June 25.
