Keanu Reeves is getting back something valuable that disappeared from his home over a year ago

Matrix star gets his time back.

Six valuable watches belonging to actor Keanu Reeves will be returned to him after Chilean authorities recovered them during a robbery investigation. The timepieces, worth a total of $125,000, were stolen from Reeves’ Los Angeles home in December 2023. Among the recovered items is an engraved Rolex Submariner valued at least $9,500.

According to People, Chilean prosecutors confirmed that The Matrix actor, 60, identified the watches as the same ones taken from his residence over a year ago. The watches were discovered in eastern Santiago in December 2024, approximately one year after the original theft. At the time of the recovery, authorities arrested one individual in connection with what they described as “violent robberies.”

Keanu Reeves is getting back something valuable that disappeared from his home over a year ago, marking the end of a cross-continental investigation. The Investigations Police of Chile announced the seizure in a translated social media post, stating that detectives had recovered “diverse jewelry, valuable watches, and stolen objects, including a watch belonging to a famous movie actor, a victim of a robbery in Los Angeles in December of 2023.”

Engraved Rolex reveals connection to John Wick films

The recovered Rolex Submariner contains a special engraving that connects it directly to Reeves’s work on the John Wick film series. According to video footage captured by the Associated Press, the back of the watch reads The John Wick Five above the actor’s first name, followed by ‘Thank You – JW4 – 2021,’ connecting to Reeves’s well-documented practice of gifting expensive Rolex watches to his stunt teams.

This engraving aligns with Reeves’ known practice of gifting luxury watches to his stunt teams. Stuntman Jeremy Marinas previously shared a photo of a similar Rolex on his Instagram story, calling it the ‘best wrap gift ever,’ part of Reeves’ generous tradition with his action film crews.” The practice demonstrates the actor’s appreciation for the professionals who work alongside him in action sequences.

Chilean police discovered the watches during raids on homes in Santiago, where they also uncovered stolen cars, iPhones, additional luxury watches, and designer purses. The operation was part of a broader investigation that coincided with an FBI-coordinated probe into burglaries committed by South American crime groups targeting multimillion-dollar homes in the United States.

The investigation has connections to other high-profile cases, including burglaries at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. In February, seven Chilean nationals were charged in connection with those break-ins. However, Marcelo Varas, a member of the robbery investigation squad, told the Associated Press that it remains unclear whether there is any direct link between Reeves’ stolen watches and the other celebrity home invasions. The FBI will take possession of the recovered watches as the investigation continues.
