Stephen King breaks down what Netflix’s new password sharing policy really means for subscribers

Thanks for the translation, Uncle Steve.

Netflix’s impending crackdown on password sharing has plenty of users concerned. While the news isn’t shocking (Netflix announced the move in ealy 2022) the internet is abuzz with curiosity, outrage, and irritation at the company’s move.

Twitter is rife with frustrated Netflix members and for good reason. Families with students who study away from home, divorced families, extended families, even users who frequently travel have every right to be concerned about the imminent technical difficulties in their futures. While Netflix is trying to stifle outrage by promising ease of use, users are pivoting their anger from the loss of password sharing, to the litany of other issues the once-groundbreaking company has had in the last years, like rising costs and a plethora of canceled shows.

Even high level twitter users like Stephen King are weighing in on the conversion. King is clear on where he stands on the issue saying:

When even the wealthy like King are expressing irritation at ever-increasing prices it leaves little room for error in the future dealings of Netflix as a company. Netflix is continuing to hemorrhage users at an alarming rate, and those users remaining are growing consistently more aggravated by the company’s poor decision-making. With such a bad track record in the last year and a half, it’s starting to seem as if the media giant’s era is coming to an end.
