While you can understand the thinking behind the legendary author’s sentiment, it would be an understatement to say that both sides of the divide have been laying it in thick. Adding the ongoing furor to his list of bugbears that already includes Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Jim Jordan, and many other notable Republicans, the titan of terror shared a musing that seems fairly straightforward in practice.

And yet, being so gender-specific has inevitably unleashed a tirade of abuse hailing from all corners of the Twittersphere, ranging from deranged and rambling right-wingers to those hailing from the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Suffice to say, a great deal of them are far too questionable in nature to republish here, but you can probably get the gist of where everyone is coming from.

King might be a gun owner that’s happy to shut down trolls who accuse him of being otherwise, but that’s one of the very few things he’s got in common with the political party that constantly force him to blow the dust off his itchy Twitter finger and take them to task in 280 characters or less.

That being said, having been called out by several groups he was trying to support, it’s an unusual situation for the author to find himself in.
