What happened to Ty Pennington after attending the ‘Barbie’ premiere?

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Ty Pennington’s health complications have proved how not everyone has a memorable story to share after being a part of the glitzy Barbie premiere. The 58-year-old TV host took to Instagram captioning his photo in an intensive care unit writing, “From the Red Carpet to the ICU…” adding that he was in the process of recuperation after an interesting time at the Barbie premiere.

He went on to explain his medical condition, stating that he had undergone surgery after being diagnosed with throat abscess.

“Turns out, that sore throat I’ve had for the last month was actually an abscess which had grown so large it was closing off my airway. Next thing I know, I was intubated and flown to the ICU in Denver. Wednesday I had surgery and yesterday afternoon I was released from the ICU.”

The day after the premiere, he flew to Colorado, where he experienced severe throat pain and breathing problems, following which he was transported to the medical facility where he was diagnosed with an abscess. He later claimed that the abscess was the reason for the sore throat that he had been suffering for months.

Sharing his experiences and condition on Instagram, he posted a series of pictures. In two of them, he can be seen lying on the bed with an oxygen mask juxtaposed with a photo of him at a Barbie premiere. Later, he thanked the medical authorities at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Colorado for tending to him and taking care of him.

Considering the life-threatening challenge he is undergoing, we can all hope for a quick recovery.
