Knowing that the crossover event Inhumans vs. X-Men will finally come to a close this week, the time has come to begin looking forward. As is par for the course when such a miniseries wraps, a bold new status quo is set to begin, with reverberations being felt in several books featuring your favorite mutants. A prime example of this is the highly anticipated X-Men Gold.

What makes this particular title so appealing is that none other than Kitty Pryde is forced to step up and lead what is arguably one of the more eclectic groups of mutants that we’ve seen in some time. We just hope that Old Man Logan doesn’t tire himself out, seeing as how he’s going to be pulling double duty with a mysterious group that’s getting their own book this summer.

If anything, our confidence is boosted knowing that his series is in good hands. To say that writer Marc Guggenheim (X-Men, TV’s Arrow) and artist Ardian Syaf (Superman/Batman, Batgirl) are one hell of a creative team is a massive understatement. Seriously, have a look at some of the unlettered interiors in the gallery above and then try to tell us you’re not salivating.

For more details concerning X-Men Gold #1, including its release date, be sure to check out the synopsis Marvel provided below:

Be there as they embark on their first adventure in X-MEN GOLD #1 – available wherever comics are sold on April 5th!
