Rebirth’s New Batman: 9 Possible Replacements For Bruce Wayne

Despite the dull conclusion to "The Button" in The Flash #22, the arc did leave us mulling the possibility that Bruce Wayne could be ready to hang up the cape and cowl after a conversation with his father in Batman #22. Now, don't pop a blood vessel here, because there's no chance that DC Comics will kill off its biggest cash cow for good. That's never going to happen. It's like Superman dying every couple of years; you know he'll always come back to life after some time. What we're likely to see is Bruce Wayne giving up being the Bat (temporarily), while someone else takes up the mantle.

Let’s say that after “The Lazarus Contract” Slade decides to go straight and wants redemption for all his despicable crimes. What better way is there to redeem yourself than to become Batman? We know that it sounds far out, but it might just be an interesting character development for the man known as Deathstroke.

We already know that Slade can match Bruce’s hand-to-hand combat skills and he possesses a superior intellect to those around him. But if you throw in his super strength, healing factor, and superior speed, we’ll have a Bat that’s a true superhero with powers. This means no more stupid memes about Batman’s superpower being money.

If Slade does move into Wayne Manor, though, we hope he leaves Wintergreen behind, because there can only be space for one butler and that’s Alfred Pennyworth. Sorry, Slade, but your help isn’t as cool as Bruce’s, not matter how hard he tries.
