According to some rather convincing box art discovered by a German website, Ubisoft is planning to release a new edition of last year’s Assassin’s Creed III, titled Assassin’s Creed III Washington Edition, that packs in all the game’s various DLC into a single game box.

The report claims that the Assassin’s Creed III Washington Edition is due out in Europe on March 28th for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 (no word on a Wii U version), and will cost €70 for consoles and €55 for PC. This edition will include the Hidden Secrets (three extra missions, two single-player costumes, and two multiplayer characters) and the Battle Hardened (three new multiplayer maps, and three new multiplayer characters) downloadable content, along with all three Tyranny of George Washington add-on packs (The Infamy, The Betrayal, and The Redemption).

Interestingly, the March 28th release date noted on the Assassin’s Creed III Washington Edition listing means that the special edition will launch just after the Tyranny of George Washington The Betrayal is released on March 19th, and well before The Redemption comes out on April 23rd. This seems to indicate that the DLC will not be burned on the game disc, but Ubisoft will instead include an Assassin’s Creed III season pass voucher in the box.

The discovery of this new Assassin’s Creed III edition comes just as Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will launch later this year. With details on that game expected next week, it seems likely that the publisher will also confirm this new edition soon.

For now, it is best to consider the Assassin’s Creed III Washington Edition as a rumor. Additionally, even it if does turn out to be real don’t get your hopes up for a North American release until we get some official details on Ubisoft’s plans.
