Marvel’s Thanos Could Be Making A Return To Fortnite

Shorty after Avengers: Infinity War kicked off its phenomenal run at the box office, Fortnite players were given the opportunity to step into the shoes of the genocidal conqueror who’d just dusted half the universe’s population. And going by some recent modifications to the Thanos files, that privilege could be about to return as a tie-in with the upcoming Avengers 4.

MCU Cosmic reports that the icon for the playable character’s laser ability has been updated, suggesting that Epic Games has some plans for the Mad Titan. Thanos’ purple beam is just one of his usable abilities, of course, with the list breaking down as follows:

– A mighty punch that knocks enemies back and destroys structures.

– Thanos flies towards the ground, hitting an area for knockback and damage.

– Harness the energy of the Power stone to fire a blast that deals damage over time.

– A super-jump that can vault Thanos over all but the largest obstructions.

Though it certainly looks like a return of Thanos’ Limited-Time Mode is in the works, some fans have already gone one further to suggest that this unveiling will be timed to coincide with the release of the first trailer of Avengers 4. Though that particular theory is still awaiting confirmation, it certainly looks like the teaser will be dropping some time in the next few weeks, with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige himself practically saying as such just a few days ago.

On the unofficial end of things, one rumor that’s been getting a lot of traction lately alleges that the teaser will be coming this month, and that it’ll unveil the widely predicted title of “Avengers: Annihilation.” The report even specifies that the music for this promo will be a variation on the “Dust and Light” piece from the Hobbit movies – an idea that’s almost tempting to believe just for how precise it is.

In any case, if this Fortnite update’s meant to coincide with Avengers 4 trailer, then this November could shape up to be an even bigger month for Marvel fans than previously speculated.
