Dust off those clubs and prepare to hit the fairway, publisher Bandai Namco has unveiled its all-new golf simulator Winning Putt.
Set for a PC release later in 2016, the free-to-play multiplayer game enters open beta later today, and early adopters can sign up for a chance to partake in the early testing through Bandai’s official site.
Built around the natural competition that the sport lends, Winning Putt will challenge players through a variety of course, which can be enjoyed in a four ball with friends or while playing solo. Starting out as a wet-behind-the-ears newbie, you’ll begin your career as a rookie, though it isn’t long before you’re climbing the ranks by completing tournaments – a feat aided by customized clubs and various other perks.
In tandem with the reveal, the company’s Director of Digital Games In Joon Hwang released a statement expressing his own excitement about the new IP, and why it’s an important expansion of the Bandai catalog.
“Bandai Namco is invested in continuing to broaden our catalogue of games, and want to create gaming experiences for players of all types,” . “Winning Putt is a totally different type of game for us, and we are honored to work together with Webzen Onnet, who has over a decade’s worth of experience in creating fun and realistic golfing experiences. Together we are developing a game that pushes the boundaries of a typical golf game and gives the player more control than ever.”
