After swooping down upon Ace Chemicals from afar, this next installment in the studio’s video series sees Bruce Wayne call upon his trusty vehicular companion to dispatch a few unmanned tanks in spectacular fashion. Rocksteady has long made it clear that the Batmobile will play a massive role in the upcoming threequel — with players having the power to call upon the modified tank at just about any time — and it appears as though the goliath will prove a vital part of The Dark Knight’s arsenal.

Portraying a Batman at the very peak of his powers, Arkham Knight will follow The Caped Crusader in his quest to instil a sense of peace and calm to Gotham, now that Scarecrow has led a charge to bring the city to its knees. That charge will also introduce players to a whole host of memorable villains from the DC vaults, including the likes of Harley Quinn, Two Face and the titular Arkham Knight, who is a nemesis exclusive to Rocksteady’s pixelated universe — at least, that’s what they’re telling us.

Promising an expansive open-world environment that is bigger in scope than its predecessor Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Knight is set to give players an unprecedented amount of freedom as they soar across the skylines and zip through the streets of Gotham in the Batmobile.

Moreover, ardent fans of The Dark Knight can look forward to the third and final entry into this video series, which will likely go live in tandem with Sony’s PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas next week.

Batman: Arkham Knight will hope to give Rocksteady’s genre-defining franchise the conclusion it needs and indeed deserves when it arrives for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 2, 2015.
