Dead Rising 3 Mentioned On Two LinkedIn Resumes

Two separate LinkedIn profiles for employees of Blur Studio (a visual effects company that regularly produces cinematics and trailers for the video game industry) have listed Dead Rising 3 in their online resumes, indicating that Capcom is currently working on a new addition to their campy zombie franchise. The two employees (Rigging Supervisor Jeremie Passerin and Cloth-Hair TD Noah Peterson) both claimed to have worked on a cinematic for Dead Rising 3, which is noted as being an "Unreleased" game on both of their profiles.

Two separate LinkedIn profiles for employees of Blur Studio (a visual effects company that regularly produces cinematics and trailers for the video game industry) have listed Dead Rising 3 in their online resumes, indicating that Capcom is currently working on a new addition to their campy zombie franchise. The two employees (Rigging Supervisor Jeremie Passerin and Cloth-Hair TD Noah Peterson) both claimed to have worked on a cinematic for Dead Rising 3, which is noted as being an “Unreleased” game on both of their profiles.

Capcom has not officially announced a third (fourth if you count Off The Record, and fifth if you count Chop Till You Drop) Dead Rising game, however, this is not the first time that we have heard talk of the title. Back in December 2011 rumors surfaced that claimed Dead Rising 3 would take place in the fictional town of Los Perdidos, California and star a new protagonist named Rick. According to those unconfirmed reports, Rick is a mechanic who must find and repair a plane to escape the zombie invasion before the military bombs the town off the map.

The rumors also suggested that the game would contain “illegal infected”, which were described as anyone who was infected by the zombie virus but failed to register themselves with the government. This caused an extremely minor controversy when the rumor broke — due to the illegal immigration topic — so even if the rumors were correct at the time, it’s possible that Capcom has since altered the game’s story.

Although this should all be taken with a grain of salt, it’s a safe bet to assume that Dead Rising 3 is currently in development. The franchise has performed reasonably well for Capcom, and it’s highly unlikely that two Blur Studio employees decided to completely lie on their resumes.

We will keep an eye out for any confirmation from Capcom and let you know as soon as anything official on Dead Rising 3 is announced.
