All in all, the Destiny 2 beta served as the perfect appetizer for fans old and new. It gave us a taste of what’s to come with a dark, brutal story that feels like it will be more focused than the original, which many players felt was too scattered, insipid, and hard to follow.
The Strike, meanwhile, highlighted Bungie’s goal to create tense, action-packed multiplayer options, serving as a welcome distraction from the meat of the Destiny 2 story. And the Crucible, well, it was the Crucible. Some players spend the majority of their time there with their friends in clans, and Destiny 2 should do nothing to disrupt that. The matches were just as competitive and fun as before, and new games and maps are always a good thing.
Hopefully, Destiny 2 will hit the gates hot when it releases and players will take the fight to the Red Legion in the beginning of a new storyline that should carry the franchise forward for the years to come. New Strikes and Raids, and some new maps and game modes for Crucible will keep fans coming back for more and as of right now, the future definitely looks bright for Bungie and their beloved IP.
