Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Said To Take Place After Revenge Of The Sith

While it's very much an unknown quantity right now, Respawn's Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order could prove to be one of the biggest Star Wars events of 2019. Granted, it's got some fierce company in the form of Episode IX, The Clone Wars' resurrection and, if we're lucky, maybe the opening episodes of The Mandalorian. Still, it feels like a very long time since there was a AAA dedicated single player Star Wars game on shelves. Sure, Battlefront II had a campaign, but it was over all too soon and most deemed it pretty forgettable.

Jedi Fallen Order hopes to change that though and we now have some new information on the game from an anonymous source on Reddit (user Xyzsvtabc), who prefaces it with a note that s/he’s “just some anonymous person on the internet.” They claim that they were invited to a marketing presentation by Disney that previewed all things Star Wars for 2019. There were intriguing details about the theme park Galaxy’s Edge and some Galaxy of Adventure shorts designed to reintroduce old characters to younger fans. They also got to learn a little bit more about Episode IXThe Mandalorian and, of course, Jedi Fallen Order.

Apparently, the game takes place five years after Revenge of the Sith and follows a Padawan named Cal who survived Order 66 and is being mentored by a woman named Ceres. There wasn’t a lot of gameplay information, but we’re told characters from the comics will make an appearance and there was also some mention of inquisitors.

If this is true, then the game’s sounding a lot like a faux-remake of The Force Unleashed. That title was also set after Revenge of the Sith and featured Jedi dealing with the aftermath of Order 66, albeit you were Darth Vader’s secret Sith apprentice hunting down Jedi. This character sounds a little more heroic than that, but I’m guessing that the title ‘Fallen’ might indicate you’ll be able to use the snazzy and cool Dark Side force powers in addition to Light Side stuff.

In any case, take this all with a grain of salt for now given the source, but as soon as more official information on Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order surfaces, we’ll be sure to let you know.
