Those who clicked their way through Diablo III on either PC or Mac will be able to further their demon-filled experiences by installing the game’s Reaper of Souls expansion on March 25. Blizzard confirmed said mouse and keyboard-centric launch date today, then took some time to talk about what the add-on’s pre-orderers will receive as thanks for their financial support.
According to today’s announcement, three different versions of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls are planned for release and can be pre-ordered. That list includes a $39.99 Standard Edition, which is simply a copy of the game, a $59.99 Digital Deluxe Edition and a Collector’s Edition.
Those who pre-purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will be given a spectral hound companion for Diablo III, as well as two other bonuses: themed portraits and decals for StarCraft II, plus a treasure goblin pet character that can be unlocked within World of Warcraft. Talk about cross-promotion.
On the other hand, folks who pre-purchase the Reaper of Souls Collector’s Edition set will receive the following:
- A Malthael (Angel of Death) mouse pad
- A Hardback Collector’s Edition art book
- A behind-the-scenes Blu-ray or 2-disc DVD compilation
Please take note that only a limited amount of the Collector’s Editions will be made available, and that they’re expected to sell quickly. Additionally, understand that Blizzard aims to give all Reaper of Souls Digital Deluxe Edition pre-purchasers their items by launch day, if not before. Make sure to keep an eye out for them.
