The game, which we learned will release on November 17 earlier today, boasts a multiplayer component that can host up to 40 players but, crucially, won’t feature a single-player campaign. Additional details that have ebbed out of the ongoing Star Wars Celebration situate the upcoming title on the same timeline as Lucasfilm’s original trilogy, though publisher EA has since hinted that it will help bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and December’s Star Wars The Force Awakens.

In fact, come December, the studio will unleash a free DLC in the form of The Battle of Jakku. Taking place one year after the seminal Battle of Endor, the expansion will essentially seed much of the ruined destruction and downed Star Destroyers that can be seen in the aforementioned, cinematic trailer. Finally, it’s understood that those players who wish to pre-order Battlefront will receive early access to the add-on.

Star Wars Battlefront will now release across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 17. In the meantime, tell us, are you looking forward to DICE’s ambitious shooter? Give us your early impressions below.

The pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted key Imperial holdouts on a remote desert planet on the Outer Rim. Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
