Known officially as Royal Protector Corvo Attano, this snippet heralds a turn in the tide, after previous clips focused on Emily Kaldwin. Introduced to players four years ago as a young girl in need of rescuing, Emily is all grown up by the time Dishonored 2 rolls around, and is one of two playable protagonists alongside Corvo himself.

In those intervening years, Dishonored‘s Royal Protector has received something of a supernatural boost, with Bethesda’s blog revealing the ways in which Corvo’s abilities have been upgraded since the original game in 2012.

  • His Blink ability now allows you to pause time as you choose your destination.
  • Possession can now be chained from host to host, allowing Corvo to slip through an area unnoticed in a completely new way.
  • Bend Time now allows you to completely control the flow of time, slowing and advancing it as you need.

Boasting full voice support, Dishonored 2 has also welcomed the likes of Sam Rockwell, Rosario Dawson and Daredevil‘s Vincent D’Onofrio into the voice booth.

It’s one of the major tentpole releases going into the crowded fall season, and it’ll be intriguing to see how Arkane’s clandestine sequel fares against the competition – competition that already includes Battlefield 1, Watch Dogs 2, Final Fantasy XV, The Last Guardian, Gears of War 4 and much more. Dishonored 2 has been penciled in for release across PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 11.
