E3 2014: The 5 Worst Conference Moments

So there it is then. After months of anticipation, E3 has finally revealed all the games you were desperate as hell to play - and confirmed that you won't be playing them until this time next year. Terrific. And as if the words "coming 2015" weren't haunting enough, there were plenty of other notable offences from each press conference that I'm too self-entitled to let slide.

Ubisoft Just Dance

It could be said that Ubisoft are on something of a roll, what with Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed Unity, The Crew and multiple Tom Clancy titles such as The Division and Rainbow Six: Siege all set to basically print money for them – and that’s on top of the pile that South Park, Trials Fusion and Watch_Dogs made them earlier this year. Surely they can do no wrong.

Well, actually, they can. After the opening Far Cry 4 trailer was over, a woman came on stage and she said this: “Yes, we did start the show with Far Cry 4. Because here at Ubisoft, we start big, and then we go bigger.” And what “bigger” thing did she then introduce? Just Dance 2015.

And as if a sequel to game game in which you literally dance around in your living room like a recent divorcee trying to prove how happy they are now they’ve moved on wasn’t bad enough, another plonker came out and introduced a Just Dance mobile app, where dancing around in your living room can now be done with your phone in your hand! A completely new way to play games, apparently.

I mean, it’s not, of course, and here’s hoping the four or five casual gamers who tuned into E3 soon realized the error of their ways.

Also, Ubisoft apparently hate women and thus refuse to make them playable in the new Assassin’s Creed. So boo to that too. Mobile dance apps are still worse than sexism, though.
