Taking into effect on Thursday, September 1, the roster is once again split across Xbox One and Xbox 360, and it should be noted that all four games will be playable on Microsoft’s current-gen system thanks to the hardware’s backwards compatibility feature.

Those on Xbox One can therefore look forward to Earthlock: Festival of Magic launching as a Games With Gold title, with the official description pitching Snowcastle Games’ bright and breezy effort as a turn-based RPG rooted in a world of machines and magic. It’ll be joined on the roster by Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China on September 16, where Ubisoft’s spinoff will remain free for Xbox Live Gold members through until October 15.

Switching gears to Xbox 360 and Microsoft’s Forza Horizon will be available from September 1 to September 15. From the race tracks to the City of Glass, it is DICE’s Mirror’s Edge that will then scurry onto the service on September 16.

So, there you have it; Microsoft’s Xbox Games With Gold have been revealed for September, 2016. But what are your initial impressions of next month’s selection? Sound off below and let us know!
