The First Of Battleborn’s Story Operations Arrives October 13

Multiplayer shooter Battleborn is due to get its first slice of story-oriented DLC next month, developer Gearbox Software has announced via the game's official website. Titled "Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion" and set to release on October 13, the first of five planned story-focused add-ons will be playable solo or in co-op with two other players and expand upon the lore of various characters. While they've been designed to be "shorter than the main Story Missions," Gearbox says each operation is "highly replayable," with each subsequent completion unlocking additional skins, taunts and titles for use in every mode. As an added bonus, several different variables will change with every playthrough, including enemy placement, dialogue and even mission objectives.

Multiplayer shooter Battleborn is due to get its first slice of story-oriented DLC next month, developer Gearbox Software has announced via the game’s official website.

Titled “Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion” and set to release on October 13, the first of five planned story-focused add-ons will be playable solo or in co-op with two other players and expand upon the lore of various characters. While they’ve been designed to be “shorter than the main Story Missions,” Gearbox says each operation is “highly replayable,” with each subsequent completion unlocking additional skins, taunts and titles for use in every mode. As an added bonus, several different variables will change with every playthrough, including enemy placement, dialogue and even mission objectives.

Following Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion will be “Toby’s Friendship Raid,” which Gearbox currently plans to release at some point in the fall.

Gearbox will undoubtedly be hoping that the addition of new features will help to turn Battleborn‘s fortunes around after distributor Take-Two admitted previously that “while the game launched to solid reviews, its performance in the market has been below our expectations.”

For those of you out there that have stuck with the beleaguered shooter since release, you’ll probably want to see about getting some tickets for PAX West – Gearbox will have more details to share when the event begins on September 2.
