Scott Cawthon is busy at work engineering a Five Night’s at Freddy’s 3, according to an automated email response from the developer.
The message appears to those who try to reach out to Cawthon, which reads as follows:
“Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 is in production. Please do not email me asking any questions about it; NO questions about FNaF3 will be read or answered!”
Couple this with an image that was captioned as “fnaf3.jpg” and it appears that the existence of a threequel in the point-and-click survival horror series is all but confirmed. Speaking of which, that aforementioned — and darn right creepy — still showcased Fazbear with the tagline “I’m still here,” so it would appear that our time as the night’s watchman at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza isn’t over yet.
Incase you haven’t braved Cawthron’s horror tale, Five Night’s at Freddy’s essentially tasks players with surviving for as long as possible. Sounds simple, right? Well, with marauding, dead-eyed mechanical bears wandering the halls, things soon become much more difficult and indeed terrifying than anticipated.
Initially released last year, its success warranted a quick turnaround for a direct sequel, and both titles have carved out a niche and passionate fanbase across YouTube and Twitch for their effective jump scares. Each of these horror games are currently available across PC, iOS and Android.
As for Five Night’s at Freddy’s 3, we can only wait until Cawthon reveals more about the purported sequel. In the meantime, you can let us know what you would like to see from a new entry in the series in the comments.
