Officially announced at last year’s Game Awards following several rumors that Telltale was collaborating with Marvel for a new episodic game, the studio’s co-founder and CEO, Kevin Bruner, said at the time that Guardians provides an “enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling,” adding that players will assume multiple roles throughout the season’s duration, which will consist of five episodes.

In case you missed the original announcement trailer, you can find it above, although it doesn’t give much away besides showing Star-Lord’s cassette tape player floating through space. Telltale says to keep your eyes peeled for a new trailer that’s due to drop later this week, which will hopefully shed some more light on story details. As for its counterpart film series, a sequel to the first, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is due to hit theaters on May 5.

2017 is shaping up to be a big year for Telltale. Besides the imminent arrival of the above, the developer is also in the midst of continuing its The Walking Dead series, which is now in its third season. Episode 3, Above The Law, released today on the usual platforms. Check out the launch trailer here.
