Coinciding with this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con convention, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have debuted a new trailer for the upcoming Injustice 2. The highly-anticipated sequel, which was originally unveiled last month, is set to arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.

Spotlighting two new additions to the brawler’s roster, the trailer is full of heavy hits and brutal action. Returning to the franchise once again, Wonder Woman is a no-brainer addition to the roster. The upcoming film sensation dishes out damage with her sword and shield, and can grapple foes with her iconic magic lasso.

Elsewhere, after countless requests from fans, Blue Beetle makes his series debut in Injustice 2. Described as a “Jack of All Trades” by NetherRealm community specialist Tyler Lansdown, Beetle uses his alien tech to both deal and defend himself from damage. With hands that can turn from blades to energy cannons, and a set of wings on his back, the alter ego of Jaime Reyes is capable of fighting anywhere on the map.

While it is not surprising to see Diana Prince show up in Injustice 2, it’s nice they got the announcement out of the way. Hopefully, like the Blue Beetle reveal, the next batch of roster announcements hold a few more surprises. Bringing back old faces from the previous release is expected, but part of the fun of a new entry is to see what new faces are coming to battle. Nothing wrong with Joker and Green Lantern, but hopefully NetherRealm pulls some deep cuts out of the DC Comics catalog.
