Marvel Snap is a free-to-play card game users can play on their phones. The app was released last year and has been a pretty big hit among devoted fans, even managing to snag a few awards. The matches are quick and pretty addictive, so you’ll normally end up glued to your phone for longer than you intended. On top of that, users can craft their own deck of cards with their favorite heroes from Marvel comics.
What happened?
The app is regularly updated to keep things fresh and innovative for players. However, sometimes these updates can result in servers going down in order to perform the required maintenance. Yesterday, June 13th, many players reported being unable to play the game’s latest update that featured the new ‘Conquest Mode’ and the new card ‘Silk.’
The official Marvel Snap Twitter account informed its player base that the cloud server indeed went down at 11:49 a.m. PST and that the outage would mostly affect North America. A few hours later, the Twitter account posted an update to let players know that the game was back online along with a picture of Captain Marvel giving a thumbs up.
“Hi everyone, our Cloud provider is currently experiencing an outage.
This roughly began around 11:49am PST and will potentially impact players located in the Americas.
We’ll provide another update once we hear that the issue has been resolved and service is restored!”
What’s the status right now?
As of today, servers are up and running like normal and the update is available to play. However, the best place to go for an update is usually the official Twitter account for the game. Marvel Snap also has an official Discord server, which is pretty quick to update players on the state of the game. The team behind it is pretty good at keeping fans in the loop.
