Later this week, the world’s best Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) players will converge on Milan, Italy, where they’ll all take part in the 2016 PES World Finals of the UEFA Champions League eSports event. There, it will be determined who the best of the best happens to be, as fans stream the interactive footie action from the comforts of their own homes.

Fittingly, Konami has decided to use this event to its advantage, by announcing that it will be debuting the next entry in its ever-popular soccer series (Pro Evolution Soccer 2017) during said Milan-based finals. This PES 2017 reveal will occur on either the 27th or the 28th, as the press release is not clear on an exact time.

A lot of what we know about Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 comes from the same presser, which reveals two pass-specific gameplay tweaks that will be prominently featured in this year’s outing. They include ‘Real Touch,’ which mimics players’ real-life pass-taking techniques to allow for a more realistic experience, and ‘Precise Pass,’ which takes the player’s passing ability into consideration in order to help determine how accurate it will be.

The press release does link to another page, however, where the following additional features are highlighted:

Total Team Control: Users can instantly change the attacking and defending mentality of the team, which can be tweaked and carefully controlled with simple controls, allowing immediate reactions to the unpredictability of the sport.

Goal Keeping: Keepers see a great jump in quality through added motions and animations, creating the most agile keepers in PES history. Attacking moments will be more dramatic than ever, bringing the best feeling of achievement when that goal is scored.

Corner Kick Strategies: Control the defensive strategies on a set piece, such as marking zonal or Man to Man. Offensive options are also included, such as specific player movement.

Advanced Instructions: Highly individualized strategies, such as Tiki-taka and Tight Marking, which is strongly based on team ideology, can be set in Advanced Instructions, adding a variety of ways in which you can win.

Adaptive AI: For the first time in a soccer game, the AI will learn how you play! Player and team behavior has always been a staple of the PES series, and in PES 2017, Adaptive AI will change sports games forever.

Authentic Visuals: In PES 2017, the visuals have seen a major upgrade, offering Authentic Visuals thanks to the further incorporation of Fox Engine. Nothing has been left untouched. Player models, lighting, crowds, fields, and stadiums have been totally revamped. Never has a game looked so real.

Natural Player Movement: Hundreds of new animations have been added to bring players and goalkeepers to life – but it doesn’t stop there. New features such as Real Touch and Precise Pass yield huge benefits, enabling a vast array of movements when trapping and passing the ball.

Stay tuned for more information pertaining to Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 as it develops towards a full release on PS4/PS3, Xbox One/Xbox 360 and PC.
