Fans who can’t wait to get their hands on LEGO The Lord of the Rings can do so a bit earlier than expected – on handheld devices. Owners of the Nintendo DS, 3DS or PS Vita can now pick up the newest Lego adventure a few weeks before the official release of the console versions.

Fans of the series should already know what to expect from the game, but it looks like Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have bigger expectations for the newest entry.

Check out an official statement on the release to get a better idea of what to expect:

“With LEGO The Lord of the Rings, we are taking players on a truly remarkable adventure that is more epic than any they’ve experienced before in a LEGO game,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “The game has a wonderful cast of characters, dramatic battles, and amazing locations, all of which bring The Lord of the Rings story to life in a uniquely LEGO way that the entire family will enjoy together.”

Any handheld owners planning on picking this up before the console release? Be sure to let us all know how awesome LEGO The Lord of the Rings is in the comments and look for the game to hit the Xbox 36o, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii and PC on November 13!
