Today, we've been given our first look at gameplay from LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, thanks to a rather lengthy and robust trailer that covers all of the necessary bases.

Today, we’ve been given our first look at gameplay from LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, thanks to a rather lengthy and robust trailer that covers all of the necessary bases.

At just over two minutes of total runtime, the aforementioned video mixes the sights, sounds, characters and galactic warfare of Star Wars, with the humour that has made the LEGO games a tried and true hit. What’s most notable, though, are the new gameplay mechanics that are outlined within, including cover-based blaster battles, high stakes dogfights and visceral multi-builds.

Not only do they look great, but their existence shows that TT Games has listened to feedback and put effort into improving its titles. They had been becoming a bit stale, due to repetition, and we’re surely not the only ones who thought so.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit digital and physical stores on June 28th, 2016, for a plethora of different platforms. As you’d expect, it’s also available for pre-order and has been for a couple of months.
