Capcom released a new developer walkthough video for Lost Planet 3 at New York Comic-Con 2012 this weekend, giving us 9 minutes of new snowy gameplay footage.

The video starts off with the game’s protagonist Jim setting off on a mission to repair a malfunctioning communication station. Things quickly go south as he finds himself fighting through a nest of fire wasps, and then battling a giant scorpion-like creature called the “spitter”. Thankfully, Jim has the ability to call in his mech-like Rig halfway through the boss fight, at which point he swiftly ends the struggle by killing the Akrid through a newly constructed “back door”.

For whatever reason, I’ve never really been much for the Lost Planet franchise but the more I see of Lost Planet 3 the more it grabs my attention. Hopefully, the gameplay lives up to all the trailers and footage that we have seen so far.

Lost Planet 3 is scheduled to release on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in early 2013. Check out the New York Comic-Con 2012 developer walkthrough video below.
