It was only a few days ago when Activision announced that a version of highly-anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 would be coming to the Wii. Now we get news that a version will also be arriving for the Nintendo DS, according to a report from CVG.

The DS version is going to be handled by developers n-Space, who were the developers behind all of the other Call of Duty games on the DS.

It’s interesting to note that no 3DS version has been announced, although that shouldn’t be surprising given the fact that the only Activision game to appear on the 3DS so far is one based off of Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Modern Warfare 3 is scheduled to release on November 8th, 2011. No separate release date was mentioned for the DS version, so it’s a pretty good bet that it will be released on the same day.

It’s also a fair wager to say that full Hardened and Prestige Editions will be revealed next month at the Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles on September 2nd and 3rd.
