Square Enix is hinting that a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One port of this year’s Tomb Raider reboot could be announced next month, possibly during the VGX awards.

A representative for the publisher teased the potential announcement to IGN in response to a question about the recent Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition PS4 listing on Amazon’s Italian website, saying:

“It’s so hard to keep a secret these days! We appreciate all of the enthusiasm, however we don’t have any details to share just yet. That said, we highly recommend you keep an eye on any major gaming events happening in early December.”

Given the question and the wording of the response, it seems highly likely that the next-gen Tomb Raider port will be announced at the Spike TV VGX awards on December 7th. With that said, we also can not rule out the possibility that Square Enix is teasing the game’s sequel, which was confirmed to be in development last August.

We will keep an eye out for whatever Tomb Raider surprise Square Enix has planned for VGX and let you know as soon as it is announced.
