Being An Adult Means Doing As You Please
You can do all the studies and market research you want to justify playing games despite getting older, but it all boils down to one simple philosophy: It’s up to us to decide what being an adult means. We get married, we begin careers or full time jobs, we have a kid or twelve, and while such things can bring joy and fulfilment, having a passion outside them is something the human psyche needs.
We may not have as much time as we once had to indulge in video games, but that’s what makes playing them so special. As acceptance becomes more widespread for older people to play games, more are choosing to make time for them in their busy days. Married couples sit and together on the couch, entire relationships are formed online through the likes of World Of Warcraft, and as people become parents, we’ve reached a progressive era where we can introduce children to the wondrous world of video game entertainment.
So, we here at WGTC encourage people to grow old with their games gracefully. We have never been more important to the industry as we are right now in the 21st Century, and there is no shame to be had in a hobby that millions of people consider a key aspect of their lifestyle and personality.
