A Sons Of Anarchy Game Is Inevitable, Says Kurt Sutter

It's no secret that Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter wants a video game based on his popular television show. He has even went to the lengths of inquiring with Rockstar Games about the possibilities of a partnership on the project. Apparently they said no, because I don't see a video game adaptation currently in development. That isn't stopping Kurt Sutter though, as he recently had this to say across two Tweets.

i cannot give you anymore details, but i will tell you that — there will definitely be an SOA GAME. and it’s pretty f***** awesome. no, it’s not a board game. 1st person, action adventure. HD graphics. it represents the evolution of gaming. i’m hard just typing this.

If you’re a Sons of Anarchy fan then this is definitely some interesting news, as the show is ripe with a strong criminal underworld, complex characters, backstabbing, action and all sorts of ingredients that would mesh well with the structure of a video game. The genre of First Person is a bit of a damper though, and just springs to mind the disaster that was Activision’s The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Seriously, let’s hope Sutter is smart enough to not partner with those untainted hacks.

It’s also disappointing that Telltale didn’t go for this, though to be fair, they already have a lot on their plate. I just really hope Sutter understands what he’s doing here and isn’t bending over backwards to the first studio that expresses interest in a Sons of Anarchy game. Is he aware that most licensed games are actually terrible?

Nevertheless, I’m excited to how Charlie Hunnam’s infamous awkward walk looks in a video game.
