Taking place following the events of The Stick of Truth, The Fractured But Whole sees Cartman and company trading in their capes for cowls. Much like The Avengers, though, the superteam known as Coon and Friends begins to break apart due to both in-fighting and the return of Professor Chaos. Players will once again step into the shoes of The New Kid, who can be a girl this time around, in order to unite the warring sides and save the day.

While the Gamecom trailer is brief, it does give us our first look at the gameplay of the title. In the clip, we see The New Kid face off against a trio of robbers that have broken into his house. Using speed and power, our hero trips up the thugs, despite the size advantage working against him. Besides giving us a glimpse at the RPG action of the game, we also see that classic Trey Park and Matt Stone humor in full force.

It may not have been the deepest RPG released, but I really enjoyed Obsidian’s work on The Stick of Truth. If new developer Ubisoft San Francisco (Risk) can clean up some of the mechanics, while also still retaining that glorious South Park humor, The Fractured But Whole could very well put the previous release to shame.
