UPDATE: Square Enix has released its debut trailer for Nightmare in North Point, along with a set of screenshots. All of that media is now included in this article.

United Front Games is aiming to complement the spooky spirit of late October with its just announced Nightmare in North Point campaign DLC for Sleeping Dogs. The horror-focused pack will launch on October 30, giving fans of the great sandbox action title something to look forward to.

The aforementioned reveal comes to us from the halls of the New York Comic Con, particularly the stage on which Square Enix held its presentation. As a result, the Japanese gaming giant’s public relations team kept their promise of a big Sleeping Dogs announcement that would take place during the event.

A live demonstration was provided to those in attendance at the briefing, and story details were discussed. Apparently Wei Shen must take on the angry ghost of a former gang member whom the Triad tortured and murdered. He, along with his corpse-based followers, must be stopped by players in order to restore peace to Hong Kong.

“With the DLC, we feel we can explore other aspects of Hong Kong cinema,” stated a United Front Games representative.

If you’ve yet to play Sleeping Dogs, you’re missing out on one of the year’s best gaming experiences. Actually, one of this console generation’s best, if you ask me.
