Figures published by retail analyst Chart-Track have revealed that Insomniac Games’ bombastic Xbox One exclusive, Sunset Overdrive, has debuted at second place in this week’s UK all-format charts.

The high-octane third-person title was among eight new entries in this week’s standings, but none could pip FIFA 15 from the pole position, with EA Sports’ footie simulator holding on to the number one spot for a sixth consecutive week.

Here’s the official top-ten, courtesy of GfK:

1) FIFA 15
2) Sunset Overdrive
3) Minecraft PlayStation Edition
4) The Evil Within
5) WWE 2K15
6) Destiny
7) Forza Horizon 2
8) Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
9) Skylanders: Trap Team
10) Minecraft Xbox Edition

Joining Sunset Overdrive in the above chart was fellow newcomer WWE 2K15, which entered the list in fifth spot. Elsewhere, Dark Souls-like RPG Lords of the Fallen narrowly missed a place in the coveted top ten, after Bandai Namco’s title debuted in eleventh. As for those other new entries, retail versions of The Walking Dead arrived at 25th, while Freedom Wars — an RPG that’s exclusive to Vita — squeezed into 39th.

In terms of the top ten, it remained business as usual this week, with the likes of The Evil Within, Destiny and Forza Horizon 2 occupying the middle tier. Minecraft Xbox Edition managed to climb two spots and creep into the top ten thanks to a price promotion, knocking The Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation down in the process.

Looking ahead to next week and there’s only one new release that looms large above everything else: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The 11th instalment in Activision’s mega-franchise is due to arrive tomorrow, November 4th, and it’ll be interesting to see the impact it has on FIFA 15, Sunset Overdrive and the irk when it lands.
