Telltale’s Game Of Thrones To Be Six Episodes In Length, Will Premiere “Soon”

Fans of the Seven Kingdoms won't have to wait too much longer before venturing into Telltale's Game of Thrones, after a recent Tweet by the studio revealed that the episodic series will premiere "soon". Fans of the Seven Kingdoms won’t have to wait too much longer before venturing into Telltale’s Game of Thrones, after a recent Tweet by the studio revealed that the episodic series will premiere “soon.” At six episodes in length, the soon-to-be-released tale will run a little bit longer than the company’s MO, given that The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us both adhered to five releases per season.

Here’s the Tweet in question, courtesy of Telltale Games:

It’s still unclear exactly when Telltale’s Game of Thrones will premiere, but we learned recently that the first episode will debut before the year’s end. Moreover, while the studio is yet to formally confirm who the series will center around, recent reports have suggested that players will point-and-click their way through Westeros as a member of the Forrester Clan — a northerly family with affiliations to the Stark family.

In fact, Telltale’s senior vice president of publishing Steve Allison stated recently that users will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of five playable characters. Cue an abundance of moral choices that will likely keep us all up at night.

Telltale Games is currently riding a wave of critical acclaim following the long-running success of The Walking Dead and its fairytale-centric next of kin, The Wolf Among Us. But whether the studio can maintain that level of storytelling quality within the unforgiving world of George R.R. Martin’s Westeros remains to be seen.
