Gears of War 4 will come packing a very special Easter Egg when the sci-fi sequel deploys across Xbox One and PC in October.

Taking to Twitter, Studio Boss Rod Fergusson claimed that the studio “may have just created my favorite Easter Egg in Gears 4. I hope you find it!” Fergusson stopped short of disclosing any further details regarding the secret – then again, that would defeat the purpose of the Easter Egg itself.

In related news, the studio executive also posted an image alongside Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, which could herald some very exciting news in the not-so-distant future. You can check out the image below, though it’s really the caption that will pique the interest of Gears of War fans.

Gears of War 4 will hit Xbox One and PC on October 11. As we learned during Microsoft’s E3 presser, Gears 4 is part of the publisher’s all-new Xbox Play Anywhere program, allowing players to take advantage of Cross-Buy across Xbox One and PC. What’s more, saves and achievements carry over across both platforms.
