Titanfall 2’s Jack Cooper Rumored To Be Coming To Apex Legends

Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall 2 came out on October 28th 2016, a week after Battlefield 1 and a week before Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare. Faced with competing against those two FPS giants, Titanfall 2 proved to be a sales disappointment. This was enormously unfair, as the game had an exceptional single-player campaign, wonderful multiplayer and some of the finest and most fluid movement yet seen in the FPS genre. Respawn had the last laugh though, with Apex Legends now having busted through the 50 million player mark and looking as if it's set to challenge Fortnite as king of the battle royale genre.

Respawn had the last laugh though, with Apex Legends now having busted through the 50 million player mark and looking as if it’s set to challenge Fortnite as king of the battle royale genre. But a recent rumor claims that the developer hasn’t forgotten about Titanfall 2 yet, as its hero Jack Cooper is been said to be on the way to Apex Legends as a new character.

A shot of Jack’s select screen (seen down below) appears to show Cooper alongside the rest of the heroes, with his abilities including Passive Double Jump, Tactical Wall Run and Ultimate Stim. Those are pretty much what he’s capable of in the single-player Titanfall 2 campaign, so at first glance, this looks somewhat plausible. After all, Apex Legends is set within the Titanfall universe, so why not, right?

Sadly though, at least based on this picture, it seems like wishful thinking. That’s because it was in fact created by Redditor Mnkymnk as a concept of what he’d like to see in the game, only for it to be so convincing that many had assumed it was real. Still, others claim that Respawn does indeed have plans for more crossovers with Titanfall 2, so who knows? Jack could very well make his way into Apex Legends at some point.

Even if he doesn’t though, it wouldn’t be a huge loss. While Titanfall 2‘s campaign was kind of incredible, Cooper was a pretty dull lead character. As someone who wishes there was another Titanfall single-player game though, any hint that a threequel might on Respawn’s radar is good news to me.

In the meantime, Apex Legends is proving to be a real thrill and we can’t wait to see what else the developer has in store for it.
