Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Getting Retail Release On Xbox One & PS4

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is getting another round of retail releases this year, six years after its original release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Capcom has announced. From March 7, limited edition physical versions of the crossover beat 'em up will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $29.99, which includes a few neat extras over the original retail copy. Besides some updated box art, those that pick up the port will find an all-new, 10-page comic tucked away inside, which features original art from Marvel's own Gerardo Sandoval and Sean Chen. If you're a sucker for all things Marvel (or Capcom, for that matter), you can secure your pre-order now at either GameStop or EB Games. Capcom has yet to say whether the limited edition will be available outside of North America.

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is getting another round of retail releases this year, six years after its original release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Capcom has announced.

From March 7, limited edition physical versions of the crossover beat ’em up will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $29.99, which includes a few neat extras over the original retail copy. Besides some updated box art, those that pick up the port will find an all-new, 10-page comic tucked away inside, which features original art from Marvel’s own Gerardo Sandoval and Sean Chen. If you’re a sucker for all things Marvel (or Capcom, for that matter), you can secure your pre-order now at either GameStop or EB Games. Capcom has yet to say whether the limited edition will be available outside of North America.

If you prefer to consume your games digitally, don’t worry – Capcom’s got you covered. Mimicking last year’s re-release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam versions will be available to download on the same day as the limited physical edition for $24.99. If you’re wondering why Capcom has waited until now to start reigniting interest in the popular series, it’s probably got something to do with what was announced at Sony’s PlayStation Experience last year:  Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite.

As you no doubt know, the game is the direct follow-up to Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and will mark the return of familiar faces from both sides, including new entries like Mega Man. It releases this year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, but it’s not the only crossover fighter coming out in 2017 – NetherRealm and DC’s Injustice 2 is out in May for consoles and promises to provide some sturdy competition to Capcom’s own lucrative series.
