Nintendo gave us a pretty impressive tech demo of their Wii U today, showing off the graphical capabilities of the new system. The controller/mini screen may not be what we were expecting but the hardware itself looks like it rivals the PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of graphics.

It will also be able to run in 1080p so here’s hoping third party developers will stop slacking when it comes to multi-platform games and finally give Nintendo a console that can compete with the Wii’s bigger brothers.

What do you all think of Nintendo‘s new console? Will it redefine gaming like its predecessor while bringing back some of the core gamers that were lost? Let us know what you think in the comments.
