Yesterday Was Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl Demo Day! Atlus Said So!

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl has been getting a fair amount of attention from me in the past few weeks, and deservedly so - I can't really recall any remake in recent history getting this legitimate of a makeover. Calling it a remake isn't even very fair, either, when you consider the fact that the story mode didn't even exist in the original game. Atlus, your magic powers know no bounds.

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl has been getting a fair amount of attention from me in the past few weeks, and deservedly so – I can’t really recall any remake in recent times getting this legitimate of a makeover. Calling it a remake isn’t very fair, either, when you consider the fact that the story mode didn’t even exist in the original game. Atlus, your magic powers know no bounds.

There’s been a fairly steady trickle of new info about the game since we first found out about it, and maybe it’s for that reason that the new demo totally snuck up on me – it’s available right now on the 3DS eShop. Atlus even deemed September 16th to be “Etrian Odyssey Untold Demo Day.” Look, I’m excited about the game too, but there’s no need to step on the toes of Heroes’ Day and Malaysia Day. Sheesh.

The demo lets you hunker down on the Story Mode, and for as far as it allows you to advance you’ll have access to everything – three dungeon floors in all, some new original cutscenes, and yes, even “story banter.” If you buy the game later on, your progress from the demo will carryover, so you may as well take it for a spin and see what you think.

Of course, the new information trickle must be kept alive, and Atlus has released yet another character profile video in celebration of this great holiday we like to call Demo Day. Check it out below if you’re still following these, but at this point you may be better served just starting the game instead.

The full version of Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is hitting the 3DS eShop October 1st, so you’ve go until then to decide if you want to go full dungeon-crawl for the next month or so (at least). I’m kind of in denial myself, because as much as I want to play the game I don’t want this addicting stream of new videos to end. Eh, I guess there are worse problems to have.
