Devil's Rejects 3 From Hell

New Three From Hell Photo Reveals Clint Howard As Mr. Baggy Britches

No one loves clowns more than horror directors, and that goes especially for Rob Zombie, who’s found a way of working some makeup-clad psychos into at least half of his feature films. In fact, 3 from Hell may even see Captain Spaulding cross paths with a fellow member of his profession in the form of Mr. Baggy Britches, played by Clint Howard.

The brother of director Ron Howard has made a few prior appearances in Zombie’s output, including the 2007 Halloween remake, and with a recent Instagram post, the filmmaker gives us an early glimpse of the character in full makeup, complete with red nose and bald cap. Zombie’s upload is captioned with the following tease:

“Who is this fucking clown? And what is he doing in THREE FROM HELL?”

Both of those questions have yet to be fully answered, but Bloody Disgusting claims to have it on good authority that Jeff Daniel Phillips from The Lords of Salem will be playing yet another clown who’s said to become “a franchise staple.”

We’ll see in due time if anything comes of that report, but one thing actor Bill Mosely recently offered his assurances on is that this long-awaited Devil’s Rejects sequel will be bringing the gore:

“It’s chockablock with gratuitous violence [laughs], which is great, because lately there have been a lot of good horror movies that just don’t have a lot of that. I mean, the violence is skillful, it’s effective, but it’s not gratuitous, and that’s what I think the fans are missing. I think we just want a lot of violence for violence’s sake—decapitations, shotguns to the face, just general ass-kickin’ stuff that we’re not really getting much of these day.”

While we don’t doubt Mosely’s words, we’ve yet to get a look at any of the violence that Three From Hell has to offer, with even the film’s first teaser consisting largely of stills and old clips. Nonetheless, the set pics have given us plenty to speculate on, with various photos suggesting some courtroom drama is in store for the titular trio. And though we still have no official release date, you can expect the sequel to arrive in cinemas around mid-2019, at which point Moseley also promises us that our “mindsies are gonna be big time blown.”
