3) Black Widow
We’re sure this will be controversial with some, but Marvel’s poster girl Natasha Romanoff only makes it to number three on our list. We say only, but that’s still pretty impressive and we can’t deny she’s a terrific character.
Though things got off to a dodgy start for the character in Iron Man 2, Black Widow came into her own in The Avengers, proving herself an entirely capable member of the team – despite being paired with giant rage monsters and mythological gods.
[zergpaid]Since then, Scarlet Johansson has lit up any film she’s in, in particular Captain America: The Winter Soldier where she was a brilliant foil for Steve Rogers. The reveal of her backstory and romance with Bruce Banner in Avengers: Age of Ultron might have been controversial, but at least the intention to dig deeper into her character was a sound one.
If one thing’s for certain, it’s that we’d better get that promised Black Widow solo movie soon…
